Favre went on to become one of the most prolific passers the NFL has ever seen and helped revolutionize the position and he would lead the Packers to victory at Super Bowl XXXI. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the Packers did not experience the success that they had earlier in their history but in 1992 they would make one of the most important moves in the franchise’s history, trading for future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre. This legendary coach had equally iconic players play for him on the field including Bart Starr, Forrest Gregg, Paul Hornung, and Ray Nitschke. Lombardi actually led the Packers to titles at the first two Super Bowls ever played and the trophy awarded to the current Super Bowl Champions has been named after him. In 1959 Vince Lombardi took over the reigns as the Green Bay Packers Head Coach and he would go on to lead the organization to three NFL Championships and two Super Bowl titles. The Packers were led on the field throughout the 1930s and 40s by future Hall of Famers Don Hutson, Tony Canadeo, and John “Blood” McNally. Lambeau Field has been the site of this team’s home games since opening its doors in 1957 and is possibly the most legendary stadium in the world. This franchise is one of the winningest organizations in all of sports with four Super Bowl titles and eleven NFL Championships in their storied history. The Packers were founded in 1919 but did not join the NFL until the 1921 season. The Green Bay Packers may very well be the most iconic franchise in the NFL.
